Last Friday, Shepherd’s Bush Market was transformed into a runway as University of the Arts London Foundation Fashion and Textiles alumni brought their 2026 Fashion Show and photo shoot into the heart of the Market.
Taking place on Friday 25th September, the show saw the work of over 60 recent graduates travel through the centre of Shepherd’s Bush Market, bringing experimental fashion and textiles into one of West London’s most distinctive settings.
The Market gets ready for a very different kind of Friday evening.
The show brought together recent graduates, new Foundation students, models and members of the local community for an evening celebrating creativity and collaboration.
With UAL’s School of Pre-degree Studies just across the road from the Market, the event felt like a natural meeting point between two neighbouring communities.
Emerging designers take their work from the studio to the Market runway.
The designs on show reflected the individuality and experimentation encouraged throughout UAL’s Foundation Fashion and Textiles course, with students exploring form, materials, techniques and processes in their own distinctive ways.
For the Market, it was a chance to see the arches and central walkway used in a completely new way.
Since officially opening in 1914, Shepherd’s Bush Market has constantly changed alongside the community around it. Hosting the UAL Foundation Fashion Show added another chapter to that story, this time with the Market itself becoming part of the creative process.
Fashion meets the sights, sounds and character of Shepherd’s Bush Market.
For graduate Moritz Jahrbeck, the location helped make the final showcase particularly memorable:
“It is exciting to see all of our work come together for one final showcase and to celebrate everything we have achieved in such a unique location as Shepherd’s Bush Market.”
One evening, 50 graduates and a runway right through the heart of the Market.
A big thank you to everyone at UAL Foundation, the students, models, organisers, traders and visitors who helped make the evening happen.
We loved seeing the Market become a backdrop for the next generation of creative talent, and we hope you enjoy a few of our favourite photographs from the photoshoot. We will be following up with images of the runway next week!
