If you trade at Shepherd’s Bush Market or in the surrounding area, these awards are worth a look. The Hammersmith & Fulham Business Awards are open now, and businesses can self-nominate across 19 categories. Entry is free, so it is a strong chance to raise your profile and celebrate your work.
The awards are open to businesses based in Hammersmith & Fulham. That includes sole traders, micro and nano businesses, family-run firms, start-ups, SMEs and social enterprises. You must be trading now, and you must show how your business supports the local economy, community or business environment.
For many Market traders, the best fit may be Shepherds Bush Business of the Year, Micro / Nano Business or Sole Trader of the Year, Customer Service Business of the Year, or Restaurant / Café of the Year.
You can enter up to two categories, but you must submit a separate form for each one.
The strongest entries start with the right category. Choose the one that best matches your biggest impact. Then read the judging criteria carefully, because judges score each entry against the published criteria for that award.
The nomination form has three main parts. First, you give a short business overview. Then you explain why you should win. Finally, you add supporting information. The guidance asks for clear details on what you offer, who you serve, who runs the business, your team, your turnover and how you operate.
This is where evidence matters. The council encourages businesses to include measurable results, progress over time, future plans, case studies, testimonials and online reviews. You can also upload up to five supporting files or images, up to 20MB in total.
Keep your story simple and confident. Explain what makes your business distinctive, why customers return and how your work adds value to Shepherd’s Bush. Judges will base their decision only on what you include in the form, so your evidence needs to be clear and relevant.
The deadline matters, so do not leave it too late. Nominations opened on 11 March 2026 and close at 1pm on Wednesday 1 July 2026.
Shortlisted businesses will be announced on 15 July, and the awards ceremony will take place on Thursday 17 September 2026 at the Playfair Hall in Hammersmith’s new Civic Campus. Each shortlisted business will receive one free ticket.
There is support if you need it. Traders can email businessawards@lbhf.gov.uk for help with categories or nominations.
For Shepherd’s Bush Market traders, this is a good chance to back your business. A shortlist or win can build trust, lift your profile and help new customers find you. If you have a strong story to tell, now is the time to tell it.
