Re-Fashion the Future: Stitching Sustainability into West London

This London Climate Action Week, Shepherd’s Bush Market proudly hosts Re-Fashion the Future – a dynamic half-day celebration of climate action, community creativity and sustainable fashion. Taking place on Friday 27 June 2025, from 10:00 AM to 2:00 PM, this unique event promises to blend climate science with the hands-on magic of mending, making and meaningful connection.

Hosted by La Modista CIC, in partnership with the Climate Pitch and Hammersmith & Fulham Council’s Climate Team, this event is a West London-first – designed to empower individuals with knowledge and practical skills to fight climate change from the ground up.

The day begins with the Climate Pitch, an immersive storytelling experience that brings the science of climate change to life through narratives based on the latest IPCC report. It’s informative, emotional, and above all, actionable. You’ll not only learn the facts but also discover the real power of collective action.

Following a short lunch break, the event transitions into Sew Sustainable, a creative workshop where attendees can bring tired or torn clothes and learn to repair, patch and personalise them. From beginners to experienced crafters, everyone is welcome. The goal? To reduce textile waste, save garments from landfill, and revive the long-lost art of mending – all while having a laugh.

Taking place under the historic railway arches of Shepherd’s Bush Market, this event reflects the market’s proud legacy as a hub for innovation and community spirit since 1914. What better place to spark West London’s fashion revolution?

Tickets range from £0 to £11.55, and places are limited – so don’t miss your chance to take part in London Climate Action Week at its most hands-on.
