ELEMENTS exhibition will be running for a fourth year, curated by artist/researcher Dr Sara Choudhrey. For 2023 our online exhibition is hosted alongside a pop-up in-person show at Arch 182 in Shepherds Bush Market. ELEMENTS 2023 showcases abstract art by eleven local and international artists from the UK, US, Argentina, and Lithuania. The aim of the exhibition is to highlight abstraction as a visual language in contemporary art whilst also providing more representation of this amongst the global majority. The works include those produced with natural interventions such as cyanotypes with bees wax, drawing with typewriter, digitally rendered geologies and woven mixed media. The themes in the works are inspired by cultural, spiritual and environmental spaces and experiences, varying the interpretations and blurring the lines in our understanding and perception of communities, nature and the immaterial.
